About the iPhone Duo

iPhone Duo in UAE β€” Apple's first foldable iPhone, brand new and sealed

The iPhone Duo is the first foldable iPhone. Open, its 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR folding display is the largest screen Apple has ever put on an iPhone β€” 50% larger than the iPhone 18 Pro Max β€” in a body just 5.2 mm thin. Closed, the 5.4-inch outer display keeps the same aspect ratio, so apps fill the screen properly whether the phone is open or shut. This is a brand new, factory-sealed unit with a 12-month warranty.

The inner display is built from ten ultra-thin layers with a nano-texture finish that cuts glare, and both screens reach 3000 nits outdoors with ProMotion up to 120Hz. The frame and hinge cover are Grade 5 titanium, the front is Ceramic Shield 2, the back is Ceramic Shield, and the whole phone is rated IP68 β€” the same water and dust rating as the iPhone 18 Pro. Inside is the A20 Pro chip with vapor-chamber cooling and a dual-battery system rated for up to 24 hours of typical use.

iOS 27.1 is built around the fold: two apps side by side in Split View, a wider keyboard in portrait, a seated pose for hands-free video, and StandBy when it is stood up. The 48MP Dual Fusion camera adds three Duo-only features that use the outer screen β€” Smart Take, Duo Preview and Kid Cue. It is eSIM-only, unlocks with Touch ID in the side button, and comes in Night Sky and Star White, from 256GB to 2TB.

Still worth buying in 2026?

Is the iPhone Duo worth buying in 2026?

If most of what you do on your phone is watch, read, game or juggle two apps at once, yes β€” the 7.6-inch inner display changes how you use an iPhone, and nothing else Apple sells comes close. Unlike most foldables, the Duo does not ask you to compromise on durability: it is IP68 rated with a titanium frame, where Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold8 is IP48. Battery is strong when closed (44 hours of video on the outer screen) and reasonable open (31 hours).

Know the trade-offs before you spend. The camera is a two-lens system with 2x optical-quality zoom, not the 18 Pro's triple camera with variable aperture and 8x β€” if photography comes first, the iPhone 18 Pro Max is the better phone. The Duo uses Touch ID, not Face ID. It weighs 254 g. And at AED 8,499 to start, it costs AED 3,000 more than a 256GB 18 Pro Max. It is also Apple's first-generation foldable.

Why buy it from Refab: free next-day delivery in Dubai, free standard shipping across the UAE, Tabby and Tamara instalments to spread the cost, and a 12-month warranty on a sealed unit.

The Duo and the Galaxy Z Fold8 are the closest match in screen size and camera setup, so the choice comes down to iOS versus Android, IP68 versus IP48, and AED 1,300 at the entry tier. Against the iPhone 18 Pro Max, the Duo trades the telephoto, variable aperture and Face ID for a screen 50% larger.

iPhone Duo – Frequently asked questions

Is this iPhone Duo brand new or refurbished?

Brand new. This listing is a factory-sealed iPhone Duo with original packaging and Apple's USB-C cable in the box, covered by a 12-month warranty. It is not part of our renewed range.

Does the iPhone Duo screen have a crease?

Apple designed the inner display to be flat and smooth: it is made of ten ultra-thin layers bonded with optically clear adhesives that let the layers glide as the screen folds, which minimises stress and crease. A nano-texture finish cuts glare and reflections, and a scratch-resistant coating protects the surface.

Is the iPhone Duo waterproof and durable?

It is rated IP68 β€” water-resistant to 6 metres for 30 minutes and dust-tight β€” which is the same rating as the iPhone 18 Pro and stronger than most foldables. The frame and hinge cover are Grade 5 titanium, with Ceramic Shield 2 on the front and Ceramic Shield on the back. Liquid damage is not covered under warranty, so water resistance is protection against accidents, not an invitation to swim with it.

Does the iPhone Duo have Face ID?

No. The iPhone Duo uses Touch ID built into the side button, so you unlock it the same way whether it is open or closed. Apple Pay works with Touch ID too.

How good is the iPhone Duo camera compared to the iPhone 18 Pro?

The Duo has a 48MP Dual Fusion system β€” Fusion Main and Fusion Ultra Wide β€” with 2x optical-quality zoom, plus a 12MP Center Stage camera on the outer display and an under-display camera on the inner one. The iPhone 18 Pro adds a 48MP telephoto with 8x optical-quality zoom and the first variable-aperture main camera on an iPhone. The Duo has features the Pro does not: Smart Take, Duo Preview and Kid Cue, all of which use the outer screen. For zoom and low-light control the 18 Pro is stronger; for group and family photos the Duo is more convenient.

Does the iPhone Duo use a physical SIM in the UAE?

No. The iPhone Duo is eSIM-only worldwide, with two active eSIMs and storage for eight or more. e& and du both support eSIM and can transfer your existing number β€” do this before you reset your old phone.

Does the iPhone Duo work with Apple Pencil?

Yes, it will support Apple Pencil (USB-C) on both displays, but Apple says the feature is coming later in 2026 rather than at launch. Apple Pencil is sold separately.

How fast is delivery in the UAE?

Free delivery within one day in Dubai (often same day if you order early), and free standard shipping to the rest of the UAE within up to 2 days.
