About the iPhone 17 Pro

The iPhone 17 Pro launched in September 2025 with the biggest redesign of a Pro iPhone in years. Apple dropped titanium for a heat-forged aluminium unibody with a full-width camera plateau across the back, and built in a vapour chamber to keep the A19 Pro chip cool under load. With 12 GB of RAM it is the first iPhone to run Apple's most advanced on-device intelligence features.

The camera system is all 48 MP: a Fusion main camera, a Fusion ultra wide with macro, and a new Fusion telephoto that gives 4x optical zoom at 100 mm and an 8x optical-quality crop at 200 mm, the longest zoom on any iPhone. The front camera is the 18 MP Center Stage sensor. For video it records ProRes RAW, supports Genlock, and moves footage over USB 3 at 10 Gb/s.

The 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display has 120 Hz ProMotion, Always-On, the Dynamic Island, 3000 nits outdoors and Ceramic Shield 2. Battery is 4,252 mAh on the eSIM model, rated for up to 33 hours of video, and it reaches 50% in about 20 minutes with a 40 W charger. Storage runs from 256 GB to 1 TB. The UAE model A3522 is eSIM only. Colours are Silver, Cosmic Orange and Deep Blue.

Still worth buying in 2026?

Yes. The 17 Pro was replaced by the 18 Pro in September 2026, which means it just became the phone to buy renewed. It is one generation old, runs iOS 27 with every Apple Intelligence feature, and its camera and battery are still near the top of anything on sale.

The 18 Pro adds the A20 Pro chip and a variable-aperture main camera. Those are nice, but the 17 Pro already has the 8x telephoto, 12 GB of RAM and the vapour chamber, and it now costs a lot less than a new 18 Pro.

It suits photographers, gamers, and anyone who wants a compact flagship they can keep for four or five years. If you want the biggest screen and battery, the 17 Pro Max is the same phone at 6.9 inches.

Availability in the UAE

Apple discontinued the iPhone 17 Pro on 9 September 2026, the day it announced the iPhone 18 Pro. Apple never keeps the previous Pro model on sale, so any new units left in UAE shops are the last of the stock.

It launched at AED 4,299 for 256 GB in the UAE. Renewed at Refab you pay less for a phone that is Excellent Grade with an original screen, no visible scratches, battery health of 90% or higher, and an 18-month warranty. Select storage and colour above for the current price.

How the iPhone 17 Pro compares

iPhone 17 Pro vs iPhone 17

The iPhone 17 has the same 6.3-inch 120 Hz screen and the same main and ultra wide cameras. The Pro adds the 8x-capable telephoto, the A19 Pro chip, 12 GB RAM, a vapour chamber, USB 3 speeds and a bigger battery. If you do not need the zoom, the 17 is the better value.

iPhone 17 Pro vs iPhone 17 Pro Max

Identical chip and cameras. The iPhone 17 Pro Max is 6.9 inches, has the biggest battery ever in an iPhone (up to 39 hours of video against 33), and goes up to 2 TB. It is also 27 g heavier. Choose by size and battery.

iPhone 17 Pro vs iPhone 16 Pro

The iPhone 16 Pro has a 12 MP 5x telephoto, 8 GB RAM, a 12 MP front camera, a titanium frame and about six hours less battery. It is cheaper renewed. The 17 Pro is the better camera phone and runs cooler in games.

iPhone 17 Pro vs iPhone 18 Pro

The 18 Pro brings the A20 Pro chip and a variable-aperture 48 MP main camera, at a full new-phone price. The 17 Pro is one year older and much cheaper, with most of the same hardware.

iPhone 17 Pro – Frequently asked questions

Is the iPhone 17 Pro much better than the 16 Pro?

The 17 Pro has an 8x-capable 48 MP telephoto, 12 GB RAM, a bigger battery, a vapour chamber and an 18 MP front camera. For zoom and gaming it is better. For everyday photos, Apple Intelligence and speed, the 16 Pro is close and cheaper.

Is the iPhone 17 Pro titanium or aluminium?

Aluminium. Apple moved from the titanium used on the 15 Pro and 16 Pro to a heat-forged aluminium unibody, because it spreads heat better and works with the new vapour chamber. The front is Ceramic Shield 2 and the back has a Ceramic Shield panel.

Does the iPhone 17 Pro have 8x zoom?

Yes. The 48 MP telephoto gives 4x optical zoom at 100 mm and an 8x optical-quality crop at 200 mm, the longest zoom on any iPhone. Both the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max have the same telephoto.

How much RAM does the iPhone 17 Pro have?

12 GB, up from 8 GB on the 16 Pro. It is the first iPhone that runs Apple's most powerful on-device Apple Intelligence model, including the more natural Siri voices in iOS 27.

Does the iPhone 17 Pro get hot?

Less than earlier Pros. The 17 Pro is the first iPhone with a vapour chamber, and the aluminium body moves heat away faster than titanium. It stays cooler in long gaming and video sessions, which matters in a UAE summer.

Is the iPhone 17 Pro eSIM only in the UAE?

Yes. The UAE model (A3522) has no SIM tray, the same as in the US, Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Gulf. du, e& and Virgin Mobile all issue eSIMs. International units have a nano-SIM tray plus eSIM and work the same here.

What does the 18-month warranty cover?

Our 18-month warranty covers hardware faults that show up in normal use, for example a speaker, camera or charging port that stops working. It does not cover physical damage like a cracked screen, or liquid damage. It is the longest warranty on renewed iPhones in the UAE, and six months longer than Apple's own one-year cover on a new phone.

What does Excellent Grade mean at Refab?

It is the only condition we sell. Excellent Grade means no visible scratches on the screen or body when you hold the phone normally, an original Apple screen, Face ID and every button working, and battery health of 90% or more. If a phone does not meet that, we do not list it.

Can I return the phone if I change my mind?

Yes. You have 14 days from delivery to return it. Returns are not free: there is an AED 100 return fee, which covers collection and re-inspection. The phone needs to come back in the same condition, with everything that was in the box.

How fast is delivery in the UAE?

Delivery is free anywhere in the UAE. In Dubai it usually arrives within one day, sometimes the same day if you order early. For Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the other emirates, allow up to four days.
