About the iPhone 17 Pro Max

The iPhone 17 Pro Max launched in September 2025 as Apple's most capable phone that year, with the largest battery ever put in an iPhone. The eSIM model holds 5,088 mAh, rated for up to 39 hours of video, and it charges to 50% in about 20 minutes with a 40 W adapter. Like the 17 Pro, it has an aluminium unibody with a vapour chamber, the A19 Pro chip and 12 GB of RAM, so it runs every Apple Intelligence feature on iOS 27.

The 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR display has 120 Hz ProMotion, Always-On, the Dynamic Island, 3000 nits peak outdoors and Ceramic Shield 2. The cameras are all 48 MP: Fusion main, Fusion ultra wide with macro, and the Fusion telephoto with 4x optical zoom at 100 mm and 8x optical-quality at 200 mm. The 18 MP Center Stage front camera handles landscape selfies without rotating the phone.

It records ProRes RAW and supports Genlock for multi-camera shoots, with USB 3 transfers at 10 Gb/s. Storage goes from 256 GB up to a new 2 TB tier. The phone weighs 231 g and is IP68 rated. The UAE model A3525 is eSIM only. Colours are Silver, Cosmic Orange and Deep Blue.

Still worth buying in 2026?

Yes. The 17 Pro Max was the best phone Apple made until the 18 Pro Max arrived in September 2026, and it has now moved into the renewed market where the price makes far more sense. It runs iOS 27 with full Apple Intelligence, has the longest battery of any iPhone before the 18 series, and the 8x zoom.

The 18 Pro Max adds the A20 Pro chip and a variable-aperture main camera. If you shoot professionally, that might matter. For everyone else, the 17 Pro Max is the same size, the same screen and nearly the same camera for a lot less.

It suits people who want the biggest screen and longest battery Apple offers, use their phone for work and video, and want a flagship that will still feel new in 2029.

Availability in the UAE

Apple discontinued the iPhone 17 Pro Max on 9 September 2026 when the 18 Pro Max was announced. New units are no longer coming into the UAE, so what is in shops now is leftover stock.

It launched at AED 5,099 for 256 GB, going up to AED 8,499 for 2 TB. Renewed at Refab it is well below that for a phone that is Excellent Grade with an original Apple screen, no visible scratches, 90% or better battery health, and an 18-month warranty. Select your storage and colour above for the current price.

How the iPhone 17 Pro Max compares

iPhone 17 Pro Max vs iPhone 17 Pro

Same chip and cameras. The iPhone 17 Pro is 6.3 inches, 204 g and rated for 33 hours of video; the Pro Max is 6.9 inches, 231 g and 39 hours, and it goes up to 2 TB. Choose by size, weight and battery.

iPhone 17 Pro Max vs iPhone 16 Pro Max

The iPhone 16 Pro Max has the same screen size, a 12 MP 5x telephoto, 8 GB RAM, a titanium frame and about six hours less battery. It is cheaper renewed. The 17 Pro Max is the better zoom and battery phone.

iPhone 17 Pro Max vs iPhone 15 Pro Max

Two generations apart. The iPhone 15 Pro Max is 6.7 inches with 5x zoom, 8 GB RAM and up to 29 hours of video. It costs a lot less. If you want a big Pro on a budget, take the 15 Pro Max; if you want the best big iPhone for the money, the 17 Pro Max.

iPhone 17 Pro Max vs iPhone 18 Pro Max

The 18 Pro Max, out since September 2026, has the A20 Pro chip and a variable-aperture main camera. Everything else is close. The 17 Pro Max is the same size and battery class for far less renewed.

iPhone 17 Pro Max – Frequently asked questions

How long does the iPhone 17 Pro Max battery last?

Up to 39 hours of video playback, the longest of any iPhone at launch, from a 5,088 mAh battery in the eSIM model. Two full days of normal use is realistic. Renewed units at Refab have 90% or better battery health.

What zoom does the iPhone 17 Pro Max have?

A 48 MP telephoto with 4x optical zoom at 100 mm and an 8x optical-quality crop at 200 mm. It is the same telephoto as the 17 Pro, and the longest zoom on any iPhone.

How heavy is the iPhone 17 Pro Max?

231 g on the eSIM model, a little more than the 16 Pro Max (227 g) because of the much larger battery. Still lighter than the 14 Pro Max.

Does the iPhone 17 Pro Max have a SIM tray in the UAE?

Our renewed iPhone 17 pro max is an dual sim international version device, supporting a nano-sim along with an e-sim.

Is the iPhone 18 Pro Max worth it over the 17 Pro Max?

The 18 Pro Max has the A20 Pro chip and a new variable-aperture main camera. Screen size, zoom range and battery class are similar. Unless you need the latest camera, a renewed 17 Pro Max gives you nearly the same phone for a lot less.

What does Excellent Grade mean at Refab?

It is the only condition we sell. Excellent Grade means no visible scratches on the screen or body when you hold the phone normally, an original Apple screen, Face ID and every button working, and battery health of 90% or more. If a phone does not meet that, we do not list it.

What does the 18-month warranty cover?

Our 18-month warranty covers hardware faults that show up in normal use, for example a speaker, camera or charging port that stops working. It does not cover physical damage like a cracked screen, or liquid damage. It is the longest warranty on renewed iPhones in the UAE, and six months longer than Apple's own one-year cover on a new phone.

Can I return the phone if I change my mind?

Yes. You have 14 days from delivery to return it. Returns are not free: there is an AED 100 return fee, which covers collection and re-inspection. The phone needs to come back in the same condition, with everything that was in the box.

How fast is delivery in the UAE?

Delivery is free anywhere in the UAE. In Dubai it usually arrives within one day, sometimes the same day if you order early. For Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the other emirates, allow up to four days.
